“The Lord is my light and my salvation.”

Ps 27:1-9

What or whom is our light and our salvation? The psalmist shares with us whom he has placed his hope and trust in: “it is in the Lord.” He says that with the Lord, there is nothing to fear. Today, the Lord invites us to make him our “light and salvation”, the one we turn to in all the seasons of our lives. When the Lord is our hope, even when faced with uncertainties, we do not panic; the Lord is with us and working for our good.

Today, let us make an act of faith and hope like the psalmist: “Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.” May we, too, be confident, not in our capacities, strength, health, or finances, but in the Lord. May we seek the Lord and his goodness today.
