All Saints
“How happy are the poor in spirit”

Matthew 5:1-12a

Today, we celebrate the solemnity of ALL SAINTS, where we stop to remember the Holy men and women who have lived with a firm faith and radical dependence on God. However, we are also reminded today of our call to HOLINESS. As Children of God and made in his image, we are called to follow in the footsteps of Jesus with our hearts firmly planted in God’s unwavering love for us. The call to holiness was gifted to us at baptism, but it is something that we need to nurture and grow.

As we ponder on the lives of the saints, what aspects of their lives resonate with you? Is it their faith, hope, perseverance, or courage? Let’s ask God to instil in us the virtues we feel are lacking in our lives. As we remember that the Saints, like us, faced struggles but remained faithful and unwavering in their trust and dependence on God, regardless of their feelings or situation. We pray that all the Saints may intercede for us as we strive each day to be faithful to our identity as children of God on this shared journey of holiness.
