“Dives and Lazarus.”
Luke 16:19-31
In today’s parable, we see the contrast between the rich man and Lazarus, who lived very different lives, yet the gift of eternal life was available to them both. How important it is for us to live with this mindset of eternal life in order to shape our choices every day.
Jesus has given us everything we need to receive eternal life, which starts now. Are we open to receiving this gift of eternal life? Do we live with this mindset of where we are going, by persevering, choosing good over evil, and loving God, myself, and others, including the poor? Who does the poor man represent in my own life? Today, let us speak to Jesus about this and ask for the grace to see through his eyes, and change what we need to change.
