“A lamp is to be put on a lampstand. The amount you measure out is the amount you will be given.”

Mark 4:21-25

In today’s reading, Jesus invites us to let the light of his teaching shine out, and not to stay in the dark or indifferent. He is the light that we need, and the world needs, and this is why we need to pray every day. Not only does he want to light our path, he wants to speak to us. He reminds us to ‘take care what you hear’. We are often surrounded by so much noise. But what or whose voice are we paying attention to? Are we listening to the voice of Jesus, as we read the word of God today? Are we open to letting his word change us, and recognising we are in need of transformation?

Today, let us pause and open our hearts to God, asking him to be our light and how to bring light to others.
