“The way you think is not God’s way, but man’s.”
Mark 8:27-33
Anyone who is not for Jesus, is against him. This is why Jesus rebuked Peter for speaking against his foretelling of his suffering, rejection, and death. Jesus knew his mission would entail suffering, and he accepted this, knowing that it served a purpose and God would use it to bring about a greater good. It was only through the cross that Jesus was able to conquer sin and death, and rise from the dead.
How often do we oppose the crosses that God permits in our own life? Do I see even these, as being permitted by God, for my sanctification? How can we learn from Jesus, and open ourselves more to whatever God wants to use, in our own process of becoming more like Him? Today, let us pray for an increase in trust, that God works all things for our good, and choose to remain by his side.
