“He is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Matthew 24:42-51
In today’s reading, we are reminded that Jesus is coming again, and this will be at an hour we do not expect. Aswereadthispassage, whatfeelingsstirin us? How would we react if Jesus came back today? We can talk to Jesus about this. Would we befearful, remorseful, orunprepared? Orwouldwe be accepting, peaceful, and confident in his love, mercy and compassion towards us? How can we continue to ‘stay awake’ and alert in our spiritual life?
Jesus says, “Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” What do we need to change to be more welcoming of Jesus’ return? Today let us pray forthe graceto be faithful and prudent like the faithful and wise servant, so we too may be found ready and may be blessed for it.
