Acts 5:17-26
In our passage today, we see the apostles imprisoned because of the jealousy of the Sadducees and the high priest. But Peter and the other apostles were not put off from preaching the Word of God. Sometimes, we may be affected by others’ negative opinions, jealousy, or insincerity. However, today, Jesus calls us to stand firm in our faith, his love, and his righteousness. Because his love is the greatest power of all, and love will conquer all things.
We are called to focus on Jesus’ teaching, to speak the truth, and to defend our convictions, trusting that Jesus provides us with confidence through his Word. Although we face challenges, prayer connects us to the source of our strength and the courage to continue doing good deeds. Do we trust Jesus in all circumstances? Do we believe that he has the power to raise us up even when hope seems lost?
