“’A prophet is only despised in his own country.”

Mark 6:1-6

Sometimes, we become so overwhelmed by our own lack of faith, our personal struggles, and our pride that we fail to recognise the presence of Jesus within ourselves and those around us. When faith is absent, hope fades. Yet, even when life feels difficult or restless, or when things do not turn out the way we wanted, God’s grace is sufficient for us.

Like the people in Jesus’ hometown who failed to welcome Jesus and his message, we too can fail to recognise Jesus and his presence in our hearts. We can forget that God is the giver of life and love and that he is faithful and blesses us abundantly. We need to let go of our doubt and trust in his power and allow him to work miracles within us and our loved ones.

Do we truly allow Jesus to save us? Which parts of our hearts are still crying out for his rescue?
