“Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will never be thirsty again…”

John 4:10–14

Life often feels challenging, difficult, and heavy with complicated matters. Even those of us who know Jesus sometimes let these things distract us from his merciful love. Imagine, then, for a moment, the depth of spiritual suffering experienced by those who do not know Jesus. Through prayer, we gain perspective on what is truly important in our lives and recognise who quenches our thirst. It is only by receiving Jesus and the Word of God that we are nourished, strengthened, and filled with hope.

However, this nourishment is not just for ourselves. We are called to share with others the Word that we receive from Jesus, just as this Samaritan woman did. The more we share him and his Word, the more our own faith grows. The essence of our faith is not just about ourselves, but sharing what we receive from Jesus with others. When we are spiritually thirsty, do we know who to turn to? Do we share the Word with others to offer them life and love?
