“The Lord Jesus was rich but became poor for your sake.”
2 Corinthians 8:1-9
Paul praises the generosity of the Macedonian churches. Despite their hardships, they overflowed with joy and gave beyond their means, reflecting the sacrificial love of Christ. Their example reminds us that true generosity is not measured by wealth, but by the willingness of our hearts. Our acts of giving show how we are surrounded by God’s grace. We do not give out of obligation but out of gratitude for the abundant love we have received. When we share our blessings, whether material or spiritual, we glorify God and strengthen the faith of others.
Paul points to Christ Himself as the ultimate example: Though He was rich, He became poor for our sake so that through His sacrifice, we might be enriched. His life and love are the greatest gift, inspiring us to live selflessly and let our generosity be a beacon for others. Jesus, please help our hearts to remain open, allowing God’s light to shine through us in kindness, charity, and unwavering faith. Thank You, Lord, for blessing us so that we may bless others.
