“Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.”
Mark 8: 14-21
Are we always worried about our physical needs? We may be worried about our jobs and mortgage interest rates. There are always uncertainties and fears for ourselves and others that we can focus on. Jesus tells us that we should put our faith and energy into Him instead. We should be concerned about being poisoned by the false fruit of the world.
If we listen to God’s Word and put it into practice, Jesus has shown how He provides. He turned five loaves into more than enough food for five thousand people. Can’t He give us enough to eat and drink? When was a time when Jesus cared for us in our time of need? Do we remember that time and trust in God or are our hearts hardened and our eyes blind? Jesus, please help us to see your blessings in our lives and understand that we can trust in You and that you will provide.
