“Anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it.”

Matthew 16:24-28

We are reminded in this passage that it is not a smooth ride to follow Jesus. That it takes sacrifice. What is it that we need to die to, to let go of, for the sake of Jesus, to find our true life? What is ‘our way’? Where does this come before God’s way?

Maybe our order of doing things, letting him know our priorities rather than asking his, consulting God after our major life decisions rather than before for guidance, holding our point of view above others? Maybe we don’t even know, but we can ask God what he sees so that we may see through his eyes.
