“The Feeding of the five thousand.”

Matthew 14:13-21

In this passage today, Jesus provides for his disciples when they place their trust in him. When Jesus asked them to feed the people, their logic told them there was not enough, yet Jesus asked them to bring him what they had, and he made the impossible possible.

At times we may find it difficult to be told that we have is enough, especially in a world that tells us to have more and to do more. Jesus reassures us that even though we are tired, busy, broken, anxious, in despair, or lack faith, we can still share the word of God with others. Through us, God can provide for them. Jesus doesn’t ask us to work the miracle; instead, he asks us to bring him what we have, and he works the miracle.
