 “He sells everything he owns and buys the field.”

Matthew 13:44-46

Today, Jesus reminds us to focus on the treasure that is eternal life: to live with God forever. When we live our life with the awareness of this treasure, we do not mind selling everything to gain the treasure. What things might we need to sell to gain the treasure? Are there worldly treasures that compete for our attention?

We need to ask the Lord to help us appreciate and value the greatest gift God has given us, the gift of the Eternal life. May we treasure this gift, and do what we can each day. To sell what distracts us from Jesus and the life that he offers us.
