“My words will never pass away.”
Luke 21:29-33
Whatever happens in the world, Jesus is certainly in control. Yet, He allows all kinds of events to happen in order to teach us or to wake us up. Parables like the fig tree are used by God as signs regarding His will for us and for the world. Yet, many times we don’t see these signs. We have become blind due to our pride and our busy schedules. It is time to turn back to Jesus whose words are eternal. Through prayers, bible reading and meditation, we become in tune to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. In this way, God will reveal to us His will and when the end comes, we are ready.
Jesus reassures us that there is one reality we can always rely on: “Heaven and earth may pass away, but my words (and my love) will never pass away!” When life is difficult, painful or confusing, Jesus is with us. He pours out his love, grace and strength upon us. He will not abandon us! May we always remember his words when we are struggling, afraid or feeling alone, as Jesus is always with us.
