Holy Thursday
“! I will make breath enter you so you may come to life….”
Ezekiel 37:1-14
As followers of Jesus, we are each called to mission – it is not just for priests and missionaries. In today’s reading, God called Ezekiel to be his instrument. We too are called to be God’s instrument if we are humble and willing participators. We need to remember that the mission is not our own, and it is God who sends us out on mission. We are only asked to do out part. It is God who puts his spirit within us, who breathes life into us and gives us strength even when we feel there is no life left inside us. As we pray this reading today, we can imagine God leading us out to gaze out at our own mission field, whatever that may be. Listen to the words of God and apply them to this situation. Do we believe God can bring these dry bones to life? How do I respond to him and talk to him about this?
