“Tell the people all about this new life.”

Acts 5:17-26

What new life did we receive at Easter? What touched us attending the Easter mass – the new light of the Easter candle, the Gospel reading of the disciples finding the empty tomb and meeting Jesus, or feeling part of the life of the church community?

The Apostles obeyed Jesus and the angel after being freed from jail. They stood in the temple courts in front of their enemies and told the people all about their new life. We are not threatened with gaol or violence, but we will meet resistance from some people when we share our Easter experiences. We see in the Acts of the Apostles how God protected the disciples when they spread the Good News. The new life that we have received is not just for us, God wants us to share it with all people because many of them are spiritually dead and need to be resurrected.
