“Stretch out your hand.”

Mark 3:1-6

Why did the Pharisees want to kill Jesus and plot successfully to do so? Jesus was more concerned with doing good and saving life than with obeying every rule that the Pharisees were worried about. Jesus stood up to the authorities of His time to save our lives.

Jesus doesn’t want us to be passive when we are challenged to follow Him. He said to the man with the shrivelled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone” and “Stretch out your hand”, and the man responded. We are called to cooperate with Jesus in His mission, even if we have to stand out from everyone else. Will we respond, so that any of our hurts and failings will be completely restored?
