Reading 1

Hebrews 4: 12 “The Word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two edged sword.”

This week we will focus on the importance of living out the Word of God in order to give it more clearly to others. The more we live and practice what we pray, the more we believe in the transforming power of the Word.

It is not enough to listen to the Word and to assimilate it, but we also need to put it into practice. Trying to be consistent with what we believe strengthens our faith and stirs in us the desire to be more connected with Jesus.

Today’s reading reminds us that the Word of God is living, effective and more powerful when it is preached by people who strive to live it out in spite of their wrongs and weaknesses.

Do I allow the Word of God to be effective in my own life? Do I strive to put into practice what Jesus tells me every day?

Let us ask the Holy Spirit to help us be coherent when we pray, so that people may believe in the power of the Word.

“…some seed fell on good soil, and when it grew, it produced fruit a hundredfold…” Lk 8: 4-15
This week we are looking at the dynamic of Assimilating the word: letting it touch and transform our memories, desires, thoughts and actions.
